Procedure

To a stirred solution of compound 24 (400 mg, 1.15 mmol) in dry toluene (12 mL) was added bromo-benzene (0.12 mL, 1.15 mmol) and potassium tertiary butoxide (322 mg, 2.87 mmol). The reaction mixture was purged with nitrogen for 30 minutes. Finally, DavePhos (90 mg, 0.23 mmol) and Pd2(dba)3 (136 mg, 0.15 mmol) were added and the reaction mixture was heated to 110° C. for 16 hour. Thin layer chromatography (TLC) showed that the reaction was completed. The reaction mixture was then diluted with ethyl acetate, washed with water and brine, dried over Na2SO4 and concentrated. The crude reaction mixture was purified by 230-400 silica gel column chromatography using 5-20% EtOAc-hexane as eluent yield compound 25.
