To a solution of (S)-4-(4-fluorophenyl)oxazolidin-2-one (0.43 g, 2.4 mmol) in DMF (10 mL) was added sodium hydride (0.095 g, 2.4 mmol) and the reaction stirred at ambient temperature for 30 minutes. 3-Bromo-5-chloropyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine (0.50 g, 2.2 mmol) was added and the reaction was stirred for 2 hours at ambient temperature. The reaction mixture was poured into water (100 mL) and extracted into ether (2×100 mL). The organic layer was washed with brine (2×20 mL), dried over MgSO4 and concentrated under vacuum. The crude material was purified by silica gel chromatography, eluting with 2% EtOAc/DCM to yield (S)-3-(3-bromopyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidin-5-yl)-4-(4-fluorophenyl)oxazolidin-2-one (0.35 g, 43%).
