Procedure
A solution of the (1S,2R,3S,4R,5R)-2,3,4-trisbenzyloxy-5-(benzyloxymethyl)-1-[3-(4-ethylbenzyl)-4-methoxyphenyl]cyclohexanol (124 mg, 0.16 mmol) as obtained in Example 65 in methylene chloride (2 mL) was cooled to −5° C., and triethylsilane (0.39 mL, 2.44 mmol) was added thereto. To the mixture, triofluoroacetic acid (0.12 mL, 1.6 mmol) was added and the reaction mixture was stirred at −5° C. for one hour, and then a saturated sodium hydrogen-carbonate was added thereto. The resulting mixture was extracted with methylene chloride and the organic layer was washed with a saturated sodium chloride aqueous solution and then dried over sodium sulfate. The solvent was distilled under reduced pressure and the obtained residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography [developing solution=ethyl acetate:n-hexane (1:9)] to obtain the title compound (10 mg, 8%).
