A mixture of 3-bromo-4-trifluoromethyl-6-(4-trifluoromethyl-phenyl)-pyridazine (example C.26 step 7) (5.76 g, 16 mmol), DIPEA (3.19 mL, 19 mmol) and 4-methoxybenzylamine (2.4 mL, 19 mmol) in EtOH (25 mL) was refluxed for 18 h under argon atmosphere. Cooled to 23 C, the mixture was poured onto water, the precipitated solid was filtered off, washed with water and dried in air at 60° C. on the heating plate to give the title compound as an off-white solid (6.49 g, 98%). MS (ISP) 428.3 [(M+H)+]; mp 101-103° C.
