To a solution of 1-(4-fluorophenyl)-1H-pyrazolo[4,3-c]pyridine (0.920 g, 4.31 mmol) in dichloromethane (50 mL) was added 65% m-chloroperbenzoic acid (1.26 g, 4.75 mmol). After 2 hours, the mixture was diluted with EtOAc and water. The organic layer was washed with saturated aqueous NaHCO3, brine, dried over sodium sulfate, filter and concentrated to afford 1-(4-fluorophenyl)-1H-pyrazolo[4,3-c]pyridine 5-oxide.
