A mixture of phenylboronic acid (25 mg, 0.20 mmol), 1,1′bis(diphenylphosphino)ferrocenedichloropalladium(II) (4 mg, 0.005 mmol), 5-iodo-6-methyl-N-[4-(methylsulfonyl)benzyl]-2-oxo-1-[3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]-1,2-dihydropyridine-3-carboxamide (100 mg 0.17 mmol), toluene (1 ml), ethanol (99%, 0.25 ml) and Na2CO3 (2M, 0.25 ml) was stirred at 80° C. overnight, concentrated and the residue was purified by flash chromatography to give the title compound (70 mg, 76%).
