17-[Benzyloxycarbonylmethyl-(2-tert-butoxycarbonyl-ethyl)-carbamoyl]-heptadecanoic acid tert-butyl ester (0.054 g, 0.08 mmol) was dissolved in THF (2 ml). 10% Palladium on Charcoal was added and the mixture was hydrogenated at 1 atm and RT over the week-end. The dry reaction mixture was dissolved in EtOAc and filtered 3 times to remove the carbon. The filtrate was concentrated to give 17-[(2-tert-Butoxycarbonyl-ethyl)-carboxymethyl-carbamoyl]-heptadecanoic acid tert-butyl ester in 80% yield (37 mg).
