(1H-benzo[d]imidazol-5-yl)methanamine (14) (0.08 g, 0.46 mmol) and ethyl 4,5,6,7-tetrahydro-2-isothiocyanatobenzo[b]thiophene-3-carboxylate (0.12 g, 0.46 mmol) were dissolved in 1mL DMF and dichloromethane. Triethylamine (128 μL, 0.92 mmol) was added to the mixture. The mixture was stirred for 12 hours at ambient temperature. The solvent was removed and the resulted residue was dissolved in ethanol. Triethylamine (128 μL, 0.92 mmol) was added and the mixture was heated under reflux for 12 hours. The solvent was removed and the resulted residue was dissolved in ethyl acetate. The organic layer was washed with saturated aqueous sodium hydrogen carbonate. The organic layer was dried over sodium sulfate, filtrated and the solvent was removed. The product was purified by means of flash-chromatographie using silica gel and a CHCl3/MeOH-gradient.
