To a solution of compound 56 (3.82 g, 14.3 mmol) in CH2Cl2 (63 mL) was added dropwise DMF (0.20 mL) and (COCl)2 (1.63 mL, 18.7 mmol) at 0° C. under an atmosphere of nitrogen. After being stirred for 20 hours at room temperature, the mixture was concentrated in vacuo to provide the crude acid chloride 59, which was used for the next reaction without further purification.
