To a mixture of 5-bromo-6-oxo-1,6-dihydropyridine-3-carboxylic acid (500 mg, 2.294 mmol) and 2-(1H-benzo[d][1,2,3]triazol-1-yl)-1,1,3,3-tetramethyluronium hexafluorophosphate(V) (1044 mg, 2.75 mmol) in DMF (6 mL) was added 1-methylpiperazine (0.382 mL, 3.44 mmol). The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 2 hours and was purified via preparative HPLC, eluting with a gradient of 10-50% ACN (containing 0.035% TFA) in H2O (containing 0.05% TFA). The product-containing fractions were dried under vacuum to give the title compound.
