A solution of 15.7 g of trans-4-(aminomethyl)-cyclohexanecarboxylic acid in 150 ml of ethereal hydrochloric acid and 1000 ml of absolute methanol is stirred at room temperature for 20 hours. The solvent is evaporated off under reduced pressure and the residue is triturated with ether and filtered off with suction.
