Procedure

16.8 ml (219.4 mmol) Trifluoroacetic acid was cooled to 0° C., and 2.0 g (2.62 mmol) (6R,7R)-7-[(Z)-2-(2-amino-thiazol-4-yl)-2-trityloxyimino-acetylamino]-3-[(E)-1-isobutyl-2-oxo-pyrrolidin-3-ylidenemethyl]-8-oxo-5-thia-1-aza-bicyclo[4.2.0]oct-2-ene-2-carboxylic acid were added portionwise, keeping the temperature below 5° C. After 5 min. at that temperature, 0.96 ml (6.06 mmol) of triethylsilane were added dropwise and the reaction mixture was stirred for 1 h at 0° C. During this time a beige suspension was formed which was poured with stirring into 100 ml of diethyl ether. After 1 h the crystals were collected by filtration and retreated with 50 ml diethyl ether. After 1.5 hours the product was filtered and dried under high vacuum.
