Procedure

Intermediate 12 (0.29 g, 0.712 mmol) was added to sodium ethoxide (ALDRICH, 0.145 g, 2.136 mmol) in ethanol (5 mL). The mixture was heated under microwave irradiation at 120° C. for 30 minutes. Solvent was removed under vacuum and the crude mixture was purified by flash chromatography (Si, eluting Hexane/EtOAc mixtures from 90:10 to 0:100%) to yield the title compound as a white solid.
