To a solution of 7-(tetrahydro-2h-pyran-2-yl)-6,7-dihydro-5h-[1,2,4]triazolo[3,4-i]purin-5-one (2.08 g, 4.0 mmol) in DMF (20 ml), was added potassium carbonate (1.10 g, 8.0 mmol) and isobutyl iodide (1.47 g, 8.0 mmol). The mixture was stirred at room temperature overnight. The reaction was diluted with water and extracted with EtOAc three times. The combined organic layers was dried with sodium sulfate, filtered, and concentrated in vacuo to give the product. LCMS calculated for C15H21N6O2(M+H): 317.2. found: 317.1.
