Procedure

The product of Example 269A (0.088 g, 0.19 mmol) in tetrahydrofuran (4 mL) and methanol (0.020 mL, 0.5 mmol) at 0° C. was treated dropwise with a 2.0M solution of lithium borohydride in tetrahydrofuran (0.150 mL, 0.3 mmol). The reaction was stirred at 25° C. for 1 hour, acidified with 1 M hydrochloric acid to pH of approximately 2-4, diluted with water (15 mL), and the resulting precipitate was collected by filtration and dried. The crude product was chromatographed on silica gel with 1% methanol in chloroform to give the title compound. The sodium salt of the title compound was prepared according to the procedure of Example 1D. 1H NMR (300 MHz, DMSO-d6) δ ppm 4.26 (s, 2 H) 7.21 (s, 1 H) 7.29 (d, J=5.15 Hz, 1 H) 7.55 (m, 2 H) 7.65 (d, J=8.09 Hz, 1 H) 7.78 (m, 3 H) 7.94 (m, 2 H) 8.22 (d, J=5.52 Hz, 1 H) 14.19 (s, 1 H) 14.83 (s, 1 H). MS (ESI−) m/z 476(M−H)−.
