Procedure
To a solution of trans-6-(3-fluorophenyl)-N-[4-hydroxypyrrolidin-3-yl]nicotinamide (50 mg, 0.15 mmol) in DMF (1.0 mL) was added DIPEA (95 mg, 0.32 mmol) and pivaloyl chloride (66 mg, 0.24 mmol). After stirring at rt overnight the mixture was partitioned between ethyl acetate and brine. The organic layer was dried (MgSO4), filtered and the solvent removed to give an oil, which after chromatography (silica, 1% MeOH/EtOAc) gave the product (36 mg, 63%). HRMS (M+H)=386.1880 expected, 386.1914 observed.
