To a solution of 320 mg (0.717 mmol) of 2-{1-[bis(4-chlorophenyl)methyl]azetidin-3-ylidene}-2-(3,5-difluorophenyl)ethanol (Example 31) and 175 mg (1.43 mmol) of 4-dimethylaminopyridine in 10 mL of methylene chloride was added 217 mg (1.076 mmol) of 4-nitrophenyl chloroformate, and the reaction mixture was stirred for 4 h at rt. The reaction mixture was concentrated and the residue was purified by silica gel chromatography with hexanes/ethyl acetate=12:1 to afford the title compound as a white solid; Mass Spectrum; m/e=613 (M+1 35Cl, 35Cl) and 615 (M+1 35Cl, 37Cl).
