Procedure
A mixture of 66A (6.65 g), potassium carbonate (7.0 g), water (50 ml) and methanol (100 ml) is heated to reflux for 3 hours. Upon cooling to room temperature water is added. The reaction mixture is filtered and the filtrate is acidified with concentrated hydrochloric acid. The solid material is collected and used without further purification.
