A solution of tert-butyl[4-(4-amino-2-ethyl-1H-imidazo[4,5-c]quinolin-1-yl)butyl]tetrahydro-2H-pyran-4-ylcarbamate in trifluroacetic acid was stirred at 40° C. for 4 hrs. Reaction mixture was then poured on ice-water mixture and extracted with chloroform. Organic layer was dried over sodium sulphate and concentrated under deduced pressure to afford the title compound.
