Procedure
The oxadiazole from Example 16 (3 g, 7.5 mmol) is dissolved in 25 ml of ethanol saturated with methylamine and the solution heated in a sealed tube at 50° C. for 16 hours. The mixture is concentrated to provide 3-[2-[(5-Dimethylaminomethyl-2-furanyl)methylthio]ethyl]-amino-5-methylamino-1,2,4-oxadiazole as an oil.
