Into a 50-mL round bottom flask, was placed a solution of N-(3-(trifluoromethyl)benzyl)-2-(5-fluoro-2-nitrophenyl)isonicotinamide 14d (200 mg, 0.48 mmol, 1.00 equiv) in N,N-dimethylformamide (2 mL), morpholine (80 mg, 0.90 mmol, 1.70 equiv), and potassium carbonate (0.2 g, 3.00 equiv). The resulting solution was stirred overnight at 80° C. The solids were filtered out. The resulting mixture was concentrated under vacuum to yield 0.1 g of crude product as a yellow oil.
