To a mixture of benzyl ((2S)-4-((4-((tert-butoxycarbonyl)amino)-1-methyl-1H-pyrazol-3-yl)amino)-1-hydroxy-4-oxobutan-2-yl)carbamate (1.6 g), tri-n-butylphosphine (1.3 mL), toluene (18 mL) and THF (6.0 mL) was added 40% diethyl azodicarboxylate toluene solution (1.8 mL) under ice-cooling, and the mixture was stirred at 60° C. for 1 hr. The reaction mixture was concentrated under reduced pressure, and the residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography (ethyl acetate/hexane) to give the title compound (1.3 g).
