NaH (1.1 equivalent) is added to an equimolar mixture of 2-bromopyrimidine and cyclohexylmethanol in THF. The reaction mixture is stirred at +60° C. for 18 hours, cooled to room temperature, partitioned between H2O and ethyl acetate. Organic portion is separated, dried over anhydrous Na2SO4 and concentrated under reduced pressure to give 2-(cyclohexylmethoxy)pyrimidine.
