Procedure
A solution of Example 26B (4.57 g, 8.2 mmol) in THF (60 mL) was treated with 4N HCl (14.4 mL). stirred at 60° C. for 3 hrs, and cooled to room temperature. The solvents were evaporated, and the crude residue was partitioned between ethyl acetate and 10% sodium bicarbonate. The organic layer was separated, washed with 10% sodium bicarbonate, brine, dried over sodium sulfate, filtered and the solvents were evaporated to give 3.41 g (89%) of the title compound.
