Procedure

A solution of 150 mg (0.60 mmol) LiOH in 30 mL water was added to a solution of 2.15 g (4.18 mmol) of (R)-2-(4-chloro-3,5-dimethyl-phenyl)-1-methoxycarbonyl-ethyl 4-(2-oxo-1,2,4,5-tetrahydro-1,3-benzodiazepin-3-yl)-piperidine-1-carboxylate in 60 mL THF and the reaction mixture was stirred for 1 h at RT. The mixture was evaporated down in vacuo, the residue was taken up in 100 mL water, acidified with 1 M HCl, the precipitate was filtered and dried in the vacuum drying cupboard
