Procedure
Allyl glycidyl ether (13.2 mL, 0.111 mol) was added to HMS-501 (10.0 g, 0.0741 mol) in toluene. A catalytic amount of PtO2 was added, and the mixture was heated at 90° C., overnight. An NMR spectrum taken the following day showed there to be substantially no remaining hydride (peak at approx. 4.7 ppm). The reaction mixture was then cooled and passed through a bed of aluminum oxide layered on top of a fitted glass filter. The frit was washed with additional toluene. The eluent was collected in a round-bottom flask. The solvent and residual allyl gylcidyl ether were then removed in vacuo at 50° C., to yield the epoxy-PDMS as a thick clear liquid (16.09 g, 87.2
