Procedure
A solution of 10 mmol of 7′,8′-dihydro-6′H-spiro[oxirane-2,5′-quinazoline] and 15 mmol of 2-bromo-5-methoxyphenol [63604-94-4] in 30 ml of 2-propanol is admixed with 20 mmol of finely powdered potassium carbonate. The mixture is heated at reflux for 12-18 hours, cooled and filtered over Hyflo. The filtrate is evaporated and from the residue the title compound is identified by means of flash chromatography (SiO2 60F) on the basis of the Rf value.
