Procedure

10.00 g of the metformin free-base and 4.411 g of adipic acid were stirred in 150 ml of methyl alcohol at 40° C., and then ethyl acetate was added thereto. The produced crystal was filtered and dried in hot air, thus obtaining 12.06 g (yield: 98.9%) of metformin adipate.
