To a solution of 6-bromo-3,4-dihydro-1H-quinoxalin-2-one (228 mg, 1.00 mmol) in DMF (10 mL) was added NaH (40 mg of a 60% dispersion in mineral oil, 1.00 mmol) and the resulting mixture sonicated for 5 minutes. After stirring at room temperature for 20 minutes, 2-chloro-3,6-difluorobenzylbromide (242 mg, 1.00 mmol) was added and the mixture was stirred for 20 minutes. Solvent was reduced 90% and the residue was triturated with ether (3×1 mL) and water (2×2 mL) to give the title compound (275 mg, 71%). m.p. 214-216° C. (dec); LCMS: m/z=388/390/392 (M+H+); 1H-NMR (DMSO-d6, 400 MHz) δ 7.73 (s, 1H), 7.47-7.42 (m, 1H), 7.35 (s, 1H), 7.32-7.26 (m, 1H), 7.11 (s, 1H), 5.24, (s, 2H), 4.01 (s, 2H).
