Procedure
To 4-chloro-3-(3,5-dichloro-pyridin-2-yl)-benzoic acid (100 mg, 0.33 mmol) in dry DCM (1 mL), was added DMF (1 drop) followed by addition of oxalyl chloride (35 μL, 0.40 mmol) slowly. The mixture was stirred for 2.5 hrs, then concentrated to yield 4-chloro-3-(3,5-dichloro-pyridin-2-yl)-benzoyl chloride, which was dissolved in DCM (1 mL). 2-Methylamino-phenol (45 mg, 0.36 mmol) was added followed by the slow addition of diisopropylethylamine (88 μL, 0.5 mmol). The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 12 hrs, concentrated and purified by preparative TLC (DCM/MeOH=9/1) followed by preparative LCMS to yield 4-chloro-3-(3,5-dichloro-pyridin-2-yl)-N-(2-hydroxy-phenyl)-N-methyl-benzamide 19-1. MS (M+H)+: 409.0, tR=7.55 min (method 2)
