A mixture of 5.34 g (0.02 mole) of 3-(2-methoxy-phenyl)-1,2-dimethyl-1H-indole-5-ol, 5.4 g (0.03 mole) of 2-bromo-2-methyl-propanoic acid methylester, and 14 g (0.1 mole) of potassium carbonate was refluxed for 16 hours in 250 ml of methyl-ethylketone. The precipitate was filtered off, the filtrate was evaporated, and the residue obtained was chromatographed on silicagel (solvent: toluene/acetone (30:1)).
