1.7 g 1-(4-fluoro-3-methyl-phenyl)-3-phenyl-1,3-propanedione was dissolved in 20 mL of a solution of 1 N hydrazine in THF and stirred for 3 h at 75° C. The solvent was removed and the residue was crystallized to give 1.7 g of the desired compound.
