Procedure

To a solution of (S)-di-tert-butyl pent-4-yne-1,3-diyldicarbamate in DMF/MeOH (3.7 mL, 1.2:1) was added azidotrimethylsilane (330 μL, 2.38 mmol) and copper iodide (15 mg, 0.079 mmol). The mixture was heated at 100° C. for 16 h, cooled to rt then filtered through celite. The filtrate was concentrated in vacuo and the crude residue was purified via silica gel chromatography (EtOAc-Heptane) to afford the title compound. LCMS: Rt=0.68 min, m/z=342.1 (M+1) Method 2m_acidic.
