To a solution of ethyl 2-(ethyl(3-hydroxyphenyl)amino)acetate (122 mg) in DMF (5.0 mL) were added potassium carbonate (75 mg) and 6-(bromomethyl)-3-(2-fluoro-5-methoxyphenyl)-2-neopentylpyridine (100 mg), and the mixture was stirred at 80° C. for 1 hr. The mixture was allowed to cool to room temperature, and water was added. The reaction mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate, and the extract was washed with saturated brine. The organic layer was dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, and the solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography (NH, ethyl acetate/hexane) to give the title compound (107 mg) as a colorless oil.
