To a mixture of 3-[3-methoxy-4-(2-methyl-1,3-oxazol-5-yl)phenyl]-8-[4-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro[1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-a]pyridine (175 mg) in DMF (1.8 mL) was added sodium hydride (600, 17.2 mg) at 0° C., and the mixture was stirred for 30 min. Methyl iodide (0.0446 mL) was added to the reaction mixture, and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 1 hr. Water was added to the reaction mixture, and the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate. The extract was dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate, and the solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography (ethyl acetate/hexane) to give the title compound (32.2 mg).
