A mixture of 7-chloro-6-nitrothieno[3,2-b]pyridine (220 mg, 1.0 mmol), tert-butyl [(trans-4-aminocyclohexyl)methyl]carbamate (250 mg, 1.1 mmol) and triethylamine (0.43 mL, 3.1 mmol) in isopropyl alcohol (8 mL) was heated at 90° C. for 2 h. The solvent was removed and the resulting residue was purified by flash chromatography (0-80% EtOAc/Hexanes) to give the desired product (0.32 g, 77%). LCMS calculated for C19H27N4O4S (M+H)+: m/z=407.2. Found: 407.0.
