Procedure
1-(4-Hydroxy-piperidin-1-yl)-ethanone (200 mg, 1.4 mmol) and 5-bromo-pyridin-3-ol (248 mg, 1.4 mmol) are added to a solution of PPh3 (606 mg, 2.3 mmol) in THF (30 mL). Then diisopropyl azodicarboxylate (462 mg, 2.3 mmol) is added and the mixture is stirred at room temperature for 16 hrs. The mixture is then diluted with DCM, washed with water, dried over Na2SO4, filtered and concentrated. The residue is purified by flash column chromatography to give 250 mg of 1-[4-(5-bromo-pyridin-3-yloxy)-piperidin-1-yl]-ethanone.
