A mixture of methyl 6-fluoro-5-methylnicotinate (800 mg, 4.73 mmol, Step-1 of Amine-36), 4-chloro-1H-pyrazole (509 mg, 4.97 mmol), and cesium carbonate (3.08 g, 9.46 mmol) in DMF (16 mL) stirred at 60° C. for 1 hour. After cooling to rt, the mixture is diluted with EtOAc (150 mL) and washed with water (100 mL×3). The organic phase is filtered through silica gel, and the filtrate is concentrated to give 1.19 g (>99% yield) of the title compound as white solid.
