Procedure

To a solution of N-(2-(1-(5-methyl-6-(2,2,2-trifluoroethoxy)pyridin-3-yl)ethyl)-1-oxo-2,3-dihydro-1H-pyrrolo[3,4-c]pyridin-4-yl)acetamide (159 mg, 0.39 mmol, Example-2, single enantiomer) in THF (3.0 mL) is added 2 M aqueous hydrochloric acid (3.0 mL) at rt. The mixture is stirred at 80° C. for 6 hours. The reaction mixture is concentrated to give 187 mg (>99% yield) of the title compound as orange solid. A part of the sample is purified by preparative LC-MS to give the title compound.
