[2-[4-(1-carbamoyl-2-naphthalen-2-yl-ethyl)-2-ethyl-piperazin-1-yl]-1-(4-fluorobenzyl)-2-oxo-ethyl]-carbamic acid tert-butyl ester, 37, (0.26 g, 0.5 mmol) is dissolved in 4M HCl in dioxane (7 mL). The reaction mixture is stirred for 60 minutes, then 1,2-dichloroethane (7 mL) is added. The solution is concentrated in vacuo to afford 0.24 g (quantitative yield) of the desired product.
