5-Chloro-1H-indole-2-carboxylic acid (116 mg, 0.67 mmol) was dissolved in DCM (10 ml) containing DIPEA (0.21 ml, 1.19 mmol) and 2-aminoindan-1-ol (Method 1; 101 mg, 0.67mmol) and HATU (247 mg, 0.67 mmol). The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for approximately 18 hours. The resulting solution was washed with water (20 ml) and the aqueous layer extracted with DCM (2×20 ml). The organic extracts were combined, dried over magnesium sulphate and concentrated under reduced pressure to give the title compound (195 mg, 100%) as a white solid.
