To a stirred solution of N-Boc-L-serine methyl ester (0.22 g, 1 mmol, 1 eq) in dry THF (2 ml) under N2 a mixture of π-allylpalladium chloride dimer (0.01 g, 0.02 mmol), triphenylphosphine (0.024 g, 0.09 mmol) and allyl ethyl carbonate (0.26 ml, 2 mmol, 2 eq) in dry THF (1 ml) was dropwise added at room temperature.
