8 mmol of N,N'-carbonyldiimidazole and 8 mmol of 5-phenylpentanoic acid are introduced successively into 10 ml of absolute THF and, after having stirred for 30 min, 8 mmol of (1H-imidazol-4-yl)methanamine are added to the mixture, moisture being excluded using CaCl2. At the end of 14 h, the solvent is removed by distilling under vacuum. The remaining oil is mixed with a small amount of water. The title compound is filtered under vacuum, dried and crystallized from ethanol/diethyl ether.
