Procedure
A mixture of 4-{4-[(2-amino-6-phenylpyrimidin-4-yl)amino]phenoxy}pyridine-2-carbonitrile (0.2 g, 0.53 mmol, prepared in Example 8), ethylene diamine (0.095 g, 1.58 mmol), and sulfur (0.05 g, 1.58 mmol) in DMF (3 mL) was heated at 80° C. for 3 days. The solvent was then removed by evaporation under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by preparative HPLC followed by preparative TLC (EtOAc:NH4OH=99:2) to afford pure product, 0.01 g (5%). 1H NMR (DMSO-d6) δ 9.39 (s, 1H), 8.41 (d, 1H), 7.84 (m, 4H), 7.42 (m, 3H), 7.37 (d, 1H), 7.09 (m, 3H), 6.95 (s, 1H), 6.46 (s, 1H), 6.37 (s, 2H); MS ES 424 (M+H)+ calc 424.
