Procedure
Potassium thiocyanate (2 g, 20.6 mmol) was introduced into a solution of 23d (3.2 g; 10.8 mmol) in 10% strength hydrochloric acid (50 ml). The reaction mixture was stirred under reflux for 30 min. The orange solution was cooled and neutralized using 10% strength NaHCO3 solution. The precipitate was filtered off, washed with H2O and dried under reduced pressure over CaCl2. The crude product was triturated with ethanol, and insoluble components were filtered off. On standing, 24d precipitated from the ethanolic filtrate.
