To a solution of lithium bis(trimethylsilyl)amide (31.5 mmol, 1 M in THF) was added ethyl trimethylsilylacetate (31.5 mmol) dropwise at −78° C. After 20 minutes at −78° C., a solution of 75.2 (21 mmol) in THF (60 mL) was added dropwise and the reaction was maintained at −78° C. for 1.5 hours. The reaction was quenched saturated NH4Cl (aq) and warmed to room temperature. The mixture was extracted with EtOAc (500 mL), the organic phase was washed with water and brine, dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, filtered, and concentrated with silica gel under reduced pressure. The residue was chromatographed (silica gel, 1:1 EtOAc/hexane) to afford compound 75.3 (4.83 g, 14 mmol). MS ESI (pos.) m/e 344.2 (M+H).
