194 mg (1.02 mmol) of 4-trifluoromethylbenzoic acid was dissolved in 10 ml of dichloromethane. 0.43 ml (3.06 mmol) of triethylamine, 215 mg (1.12 mmol) of 1-(3-dimethylaminopropyl)-3-ethylcarbodiimide hydrochloride, 152 mg (1.12 mmol) of 1-hydroxybenzotriazole and 203 mg (1.02 mmol) of 3-(2-aminoethoxy)benzonitrile hydrochloride were added to the solution, and they were stirred for 20 hours. The reaction liquid was diluted with water. After the extraction with ethyl acetate, the organic layer was washed with water, 1 N sodium hydroxide and saturated aqueous NaCl solution successively, and dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate. The solvent was evaporated, and the residue was treated in the same manner as that of step 6 in Example 1 to obtain the title compound.
