To 3-iodo-1-((1-methyl-1H-pyrazol-3-yl)methyl)-4-nitro-1H-indazole (5.11 g, 13.3 mmol) in THF/IPA (10 mL/30 mL) was added trifluorovinylpotassium borate (3.57 g, 26.7 mmol), 1,1′-bis(diphenylphosphino)ferrocene-palladium(II)dichloride dichloromethane complex (0.545 g, 0.667 mmol) and triethylamine (5.58 mL, 40.0 mmol). The reaction mixture was heated to 80° C. for 16 hours. The reaction mixture was diluted with EtOAc (100 mL), washed with H2O and brine. The organic phase was concentrated under reduced pressure and the residue was purified by silica gel chromatography (hexanes/EtOAc 5:1) to provide the product (2.36 g).
