N-(4-(4-Benzylpiperazin-1-yl)-1H-pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridin-3-yl)butyramide (0.070 g, 0.19 mmol) was dissolved in MeOH (1 mL). Pd/C (0.0197 g, 0.0185 mmol) was then added, followed by the addition of 3 drops of concentrated HCl. The reaction was then placed under a H2 balloon for 18 hours. The reaction was then filtered, washed with MeOH, and concentrated to give the crude product N-(4-(piperazin-1-yl)-1H-pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridin-3-yl)butyramide (0.050 g, 93.8% yield).
