A microwave tube is charged with (3-chloro-pyrazin-2-yl)-pyridin-3-yl-methanone (85 mg, 0.39 mmol), DME (2 ml) and 2-methoxyethylamine (0.95 g, 4.26 mmol) and the tube is sealed with a microwave cap. The mixture is heated at 120° C. for 15 hours, then the solvent is removed in vacuo. [3-(2-Methoxy-ethylamino)-pyrazin-2-yl]-pyridin-3-yl-methanone is obtained by flash chromatography (SiO2, toluene/EtOAc, 2:1)
